I'm curious. Will the apexi power fc allow you to hit lift in 6th gear, or do you have to have the xs Turbo?

so apexi power fc will allow me to hit lift in 6th gear? even without a Turbo? with a long enough stretch of road, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible...unless the engine runs out of steam

also: the apexi power fc will not allow you to hit lift in 6th, either. just to answer the original question. to hit lift, usually nitrous, a Turbo, or a supercharger is needed

I have tried going into lift on 6th only a couple times and everytime it took forever and seemed to max out before hand. I believe a stock Celica is rev limited to 135ish at 6400 or so RPMs and lift doesn't seem to engage. And I don't mean a 1st to 2nd pull hitting lift feeling. Nothing.

Anyways, the governor is part of the ECU. It's not a stand alone item.

When i was traveling home on a road trip I wanted to see how fast my car could go, thinking that 135 was the max for celica, that ecu would allow, i though with some new mods lets see what 5th as to offer, well i tached out 5th and i was sill at 135 but when i shifted into 6th, it kept pulling, not like nitros, but speedometer/tach kept going, This may have been due to slight down hill, but non the less, I believe i hit lift in 6th and kept going to 145 MPH, then had to slow down. Gets bumpy at those speeds sometimes. In all, you can hit lift in 6th with stock ECU, but who can really tell at those speeds, not like you can hear it.
