Eh. I know. I'm stupid and lazy.
But, the formula for torque is weight/hp=torque.. right?

?

also, this means a car with 200hp that weighs 2000lbs will accelerate at the same speed as a car with 400hp that weighs 4000lbs, right?

just wondering.. my friend has a mazda m-3 or mx-3 or somethin and he said he car weighs around 1600.. i know it has around 100hp and i can beat him, but i use to think it would be a slaughter... now i'm not so sure.

so, whats the formula for torque again?

you are going to kill the mx3! and he doesnt weigh 1600 lbs.
its about the same weight as the celica or a little heavier.
what you said above is power to weight. not torque.
but torque doesnt have anything to do with what you are refering to right now other than the fact that your car needs it to move and if by chance you get more of it you would be faster.

i guess he has the mx3 with the 4 cylinder engine, its the same engine that the 4 cylinder ford probes came with.
even if you are an auto,he's done with unless he has a lot of work done.

Torque x 7800 / 5,252 = Horsepower

7800 is the celica rpm

this forulma is for hp, but i have always played with it the numbers until i got it to equal to hp...
