Hello all and I would just like to intorduce myself a little before we go too much further. I am Lance Holcomb owner of Elite Carbon Designs in Midland Texas. It is a very new company here and is currently stuck in the backyard of my house. But to not let that fact fool you, we do live up to our name. I will be happy to post up some pics of the shop and a few samples of our work until we get our web site up (swamped with new place and getting parts ready). Our shop can do FibreGlass, Carbon Fibre, and Kevlar. We are still new to the business so we may be a little slow, but we will be happy to boast satisfaction is gauranteed since everyone working here seems to be a perfectionist when it comes to our work. At this moment we are only doing the traditional look carbon fiber and none of the blue/red/yellow/ etc. but we will be adding these to our line very soon.

The reason for this post is that we have the machinery, materials, and want, but no clue what the parts you all are dreaming about are. I am asking for a few suggestions on the parts we open our store on the internet with should be, and if you like even a price you would like to see. We are going to try to slash the current prices of anyone else out there seeing as how we are all "ricers" as well. Right now I am thinking of making every interior peice to the car along with the fenders (but not able to do hoods right now... the current autoclaves are just barely too small). So please let me know what you would like to see, have seen, or what is lurking in your imagination. We would be glad to do some custom work as well, and in fact look forward to it. So once again please post up what you would love to see and maybe a prioce you would love to see it at. Just remember at this very moment we are only doing your traditional carbon fibre, Fiberglass, and can do kevlar as well (although we havn't yet). Let em fly boys.

You can contact me by phone at 432-697-5792 after 6pm central time, or please feel free to e-mail me at Administrator@midcomachine.com

hey mukalicious I do not see that being a problem at all, you want it with the hinged door at the top still I will have to figure that one out but I am sure it still will not be a problem. And timo I knew sub enclosures would come up, but I do not think we will be touching on that for a while now, it is just that every car is an individual and making exact fits and things of that nature are things that we would need the car for. Now if you would like to come see us I am sure we can do it that way. PM me if your interested

man didn't think this would get such a response. ok timo again, if you just want a very basic box we can do that, but if your thinking of what am thinking of we probably can not. and the blade from the wing, are you talking TRD or the wing that was part of the action package, I was told there are slight differences. And tru I will do some math on the engine plastics and shoot you a price tonight hopefully, or first thing tomorrow. however I have the GT model celi and do not know anyone with the GTS so I would have to snag some plastics somehow to make molds off of. But I will do my best to get both prices to you by tonight.

I am sure it can be arranged. with what I have right now I can not do it, but getting the supplies necessary will not be a problem either. Keep the ideas flying, and again try to come up with a price you would like to see on it, we will do our best to meet those prices. Thanks for the info so far though

I'd be very interested in engine plastics, also. Of course depending on price and the quality/grade of the carbon fiber that is used.

ok for those of you interested in the center console I have started a post in th group buy section as well, at the moment still no price listed, but as I see how many ppl are interested I will be able to get lower and lower on my price of course. Please post there and just say you would be interested given right price and grade hehe. For sub enclosures, if you are looking for your basic enclosure like you find at the sotre please state if you want ported sealed or bandpass, and if there is a particular one you have seen that you are interested in please tell me the brand and whatever else =p. Engine plastics, as I stated before I only have the '02 GTS available to me right now, but will look into getting the GTS as well. I will let you guys know on that asap.

well the only diffrence on the platics between the gt and gts is the engine cover the rest(large fuse box, smallfuse box,ecu cover, large passenger cover(left)) they are all the same measurements thumbsup so all you need is the main engine cover thumbsup

I would buy this for sure, never even thought of that. Outside of that, Carbon Fiber Door Panel Inserts and a Carbon Fiber Center Console.

Damn, it would be cool if you could do a custom subenclosure. maybe in the future? I dont really want just a reg box, I need something that will stick out. Which is why I was thinkin carbon fiber. Well its something for your consideration, maybe sometime in the future when taking orders for custom sub enclosures (if at all) we could just give you a sketch, picture, or something to that effect to work with. And then you take it from there. wave

maybe some carbon fibre winshield visor things...with or without the mirror. possibly a replacement for the lid in the center console...where you would rest your arm at. and with the center consoles maybe you get custom with slots for video screens. how about washer nozzles in carbon fibre? what about a carbon fibre hatch replacement that doesnt say "celica." and to comment on the pillars that go behind the seats and to the back...can you have an option on those without the cutout for seatbelts...so it looks cleaner for those wanting to go with harnesses? those are just ideas i have/want...

If you could do a Carbon Fiber JDM center console I would grab one of those... and a Fuel Door would be awesome too. And if the engine dress set for a GTS was priced right. Hmmmm...

ok guys finally made it back to the house.. sorry for the wait. VSGTS I havn't yet heard ofthe company carbonTrix but will definately look into them. I haven't yet found a Carbon Fiber dual gauge pillar, but would love to see some out there. Alright Timo draw mesomething up and e-mail it to meand I will see what we can work out on the carbon fiber enclosure. And the I too ahve the action packagewing so I bet I can make copy of it fairly easy, but I am not electrician by far, so let me do a little more research on it. Also Thanks for the list man was a great help. Octa From the sound of things you want me to do all the plastics from the front door back, if that is right let me know, if not I am probably just misunderstanding you. Super I am sure that I can spit out a couple visors for you, but I will not be putting mirrors in them ( not really sure how to well enough to sell them with a good conscience). I will be getting my arm rest readyto make the mold tonight for you as well. Will let you know on that A.S.A.P. And washer nozzles may be a royal pain in the arse, but will look into that one as well. And I hear you on the rear celica that you get stuck with. I hadn't even thought about gettin rid of it yet thanks for the idea =p. Sultan I am going to order a duel gauge pod later this week and will get on that right away as well. Right now my two main projects are going to be that gauge pod, and the center console. Will hopefully have a set price on them by the end of the week as well. Sstep I will do my best to price out on the gas door at the same time, but I never dreamed that there would be this kind of a responce so I am alreadyfalling a little behind. I apologize to you all about that. And with the popularity along with the JDM console I will be ordering one of those as soon as I can find one as well. Thank you all again for your suggestions, and please keep any ideas coming. thumbsup

How about a full replacement A-pillar with three spots for gauges? Or just two even, I dont really like the look of just slapping on a piece of plastic to the already existing pillar.

Of the 9 things listed above and what has been mentioned... My feeling is these 5 will sell the most. Also, what grade carbon fiber will you be using?

Edit: damn, called it Fiberglass originally.

ok guys I also have to agree with XXMerlinXX the products listed there are the first ones we are going to start producing. I will begin the molds on the this weekend and will have pics of our sample parts out asap (gotta go buy a camera first lol). I will do my best to get some pics of some motorcycle parts we have done just to give you guys an idea on the type of work we do. I do not think anyone will be disappointed. I will try to find a camera or run to best buy and buy myself one by tomorrow. Thank you again for all your ideas and your interest, and I hope we can be doing business very soon.

ok here is the deal. I will get some pics posted of some previous parts that we have built (motorcycle parts) just to show you guys the quality of my work. But it will now be next weekend before I can even hope to post up finished products and prices. ran into some trouble with zoning laws in Midland or something along those lines. None the Less before I get started I have to move lol. So this week will be stuck moving all our stuff to the new location. Sorry about the trouble there, but I promise the wait will be worth while. But I will get some pics of our work to hold you guys over until then. Sorry again not how I wanted to start out introducing our company to you guys.

Ok I am going to be tearing apart my center console trying to figure out how the heck to make the doors and ashtray work correctly tonight. I am sure once I get it apart the design is very simple. Also pulled my A Pillars off and began prepping them tonight. Still no luck on the camera (got off work too late to make it to Best Buy) but will do my best to get them soon. As for the AC vents, that project will probably take place later on. But who knows I may do better on these first 5 parts than I am expecting to time wise. Will keep you all posted.

Isn't there a person on this site that was already offering the Carbon Fiber door inserts, I am not trying to be in comp. wit anyone on this site. I am pretty sure that there was not too long ago. Or maybe it was Fiberglass with the thought of Carbon Fiber. Anyone who remembers this please let me know for sure before I even consider this.

here's my dream list;
* a-pillars (OEM),
* engine plastics,
* JDM center console (that's the one without the door but a spot for a 5.8" screen,
* full door sills (with "CELICA" writen in the center & available in verious colors,
* door and e-brake handle,
* visor (with or without mirror),
* door inserts (this is a big one around here lots of interest in other posts)
* front air spliter (like APR's)
* and possibly a 6 speed gear shift available in verious colored numbers,

that is awesome that you are around there have been sooo many people wanting custom Carbon Fiber work done and it would be a HUGE market for you because there is less to nothing right now

Hey I would like to thank you all for nt dissing me straight out. I was expecting it really, I know how many people get your hopes up to never follow through. I too was one of you guys sitting and reading these every time they came through and watched them all slowly fade away. That and the fact that I love working on cars any way form or fashion is what drove me to this decision. But I really do appreciate the fact that you are all being so helpful, and can not wait to help each and everyone of you get the peices you have sat and dreamed of. I will do my best to make all the suggestions above and make them become a reality. But by the time tomorrow rolls around one of you will be saying recreate the car so tha I can bolt in my engine mount the tranny an roll off lol. Seriously I think that I have every interior and exterior peice that can possably come off on my list so far hehe. But I love that fact, just makes me want this that much more. Just hope tha I can 1/2 way keep up with you guys lol. Oh well I have to get my 2 hours of sleep before my real job tomorrow, so I would like to say thank you all one more time, and goodnight to you all smile oh and I will apologize now for my typing and spelling skills now, but just got off a 72 hour shift at work and spent the rest of the day workin on gettin the molds ready hehe

Hehe with the way things looks I believe everyone will be very happy with the parts. And I will be providing a better deal for the guys of ecelica a lot better deal that that of the people who come across our web site. Our site should begin progress today if not tomorrow, and that will give you guys a little more ensight into my world. Will also have a few sample parts on it (I know I need to get them posted up here). But I have to get back to work at my boring day job so that I can afford to make this stuff lol. Will keep you all updated on progress as we go along. Made a mold last night but I accidentally dropped it when moving it to the other table. Oh well should be able to get another one done tonight.

HEHE I do agree about the mass production, but am very very sorry to say I will never be doing it. There is going to be a long waiting line for that piece, since I am a backyard shop and the only one doing them production will be fairly slow. But I will do my best to keep up with you guys lol. Still looking for someone near by that needs a job BTW... Sorry outcast, but I am looking for someone who has at least graduated... or maybe at least in high school. But feel free to come by and learn the process anytime. Who knows in a couple years you may be my comp.

I'd be interested in a FULL carbon fiber door insert wich replaces the entire inside door panel.. and maybe would be nice to also have the entire front desk in Carbon Fiber

I'm still mainly interested in engine plastics. I'd like to see something (pictures, up close and afar and/or on the engine or a review from a 3rd party) before making a purchase though.

ok as far as the engine plastics go we will not begin production on that until we are caught up with the demand on the A pillars (OEM, 2 and 3 gauge), and the center consoles (OEM and JDM) I know that this may not please you all, but we will be lucky to keep up with the demand from those to and nobody loves a long wait on backorders. I will post up when we begin production on all parts, and I am going to be doing the center console first. Maybe (depending on sales) the A-Pillars will be at the same time, but majority of concern is toward the consoles right now.

Ok we will be trying to squeeze in the OEM and 2 gauge A-Pillars at the same time, but priority is still going to be set on the console. We have run into a problem or two with the first model (clips are being a pain) but we do expect to have them ready to be gin sells within the month for sure, possibly within the next week or 2. I will be continuing to post progress to keep you guys informed.

i'd be all over it if you made a carbon fiber roof liner and sunroof door slider in carbon fiber

but even if it was just the liner i'd be down and in the back the piece that hangs from the hatch, the 'trunk' cover
that would be awsome

and a carbon fiber widebody kit eek

yeah, don't go jumpin' the gun and giving this guy shit loads of work to do, stick to one thing at a time, remember he's only working with a smaller autoclave not the HUGE ones they use in the commercial business, so a roof and body kit would be hard to do, but i do agree, the hatch in the back would be cool in Carbon Fiber, lol

ok I didn't even think about posting up pics of the steps. I will be doing so. I am out of town right now on business, but I will pic up on pics wherever the may be. And if they have one done when I get back you are all sol on production pics and we go straight into sells. hope that doesn't bother you all too much lol. And yes all our peices will be clear coated in a UV protectant spray. And thank you double, you did just complete every last removable piece of the car lol. I am not going to say we will never do it, but odds are definately not in your favor hehe. And thanks Hkysk, you are official on crowd control when we finally do release parts hehe.

I was just wondering how much it will cost for you to make a console that fits a 7" screen? Im new to all this carbon fiber and fiber glassing stuff. Also, out of sheer, morbid curiosity, how much would Fiberglassing something like this cost?

Dennis, for an enclosure like that with carbon fiber, you are easily looking over $3,000 in labor and parts. Probably over 4g's.

I jusr thought of something that would be really profitable: TRD C/F Wing Insert.

Wow that would still be a very expensive enclosure man. Not even going to touch on that. Will have to find another place on that one. As for the TRD wingbalde We do plan on doing that piece, but is not one of the first ones we will be doing. Our first two automotive peices are going to be for the celi, and will be only the center console and A-pillars. Once we catch up on the demand with those we will be choosing other pieces basically out of a hat. Oh well I am going to getback to the shop now. I need to see what is going on.

At this time we are only going to be selling parts that we can mold off of. We are capable of doing custom projects, but with the demand we have found we are having alotof trouble keeping up. Obviously since I have yet to have a pic of the finished console or a mold. Our motorcycle parts just got more ordered (even though the orders were supposed to be cancelled) we are stuck finishing that up first. But I still think we can have pics of the finished console by end of the month.

I am the only guy that is currently working on the Celica project. I have 2 other guys finishing up our motorcycle orders so that we can get on this full blown. And I am the least experienced one in the shop so I am going very slow they say hehe. But no worries I am only this slow because I am a perfectionist. I also can only work on the project after my real job. So it is moving along at a snails pace right now. But again I should be able to have a pic of a finished console by the end of the month and will have a pic of it in a car (I have dibs on the first one) to show how it looks fitment wise. I am also going to be taking pics of some of our motorcycle parts tonight and should have em posted by tomorrow (if I can get em outta the stupid camera)

LoL, he'd have to get the parts so he could make a mold, and that would be AFTER he finishes the stuff he's already started. Finish one project and clear the demand for the project before you move onto the next so you always have happy customers and pleased pockets.

Hkysk8r has that correct, that and the fact that my current autoclave is not large enough for hoods. But I will be happy to start doing parts for any car after I have caught up to all other projects. E-mail me, PM me, or catch me on aim Carbonfibrdesign and we will talk.

Since this is not a project that we are going to be doing (at least not planned as of yet) you can currently get the Carbon Fiber hatch from VIS. Now it does not include the lexan (but is strongly recomended that you do use it). But they are selling it right now for only $550 and I am probably going to order one for myself lol. Just look on their site and give them a call, seem to be nice people, but they do not know much about the product they sell. But from what I hear it is a good product.

I wouldnt buy something like that without knowing exact dimensions and weights which nobody could tell me. lol especially since I have a current solution that cost me $60 thumbsup lol

it really needs to be a race only application with no room for things like the wipers and stuff. If it weighed more then 10Lbs w/o lexan it would be a shame. but should someone bring one out weighing 10 lbs or less it would be a great investment. you'd be lookin at 70 lbs weight loss not counting removing any wing you may have. thumbsup

Ok guys for those of you who are reading both of my posts on here you may already know that I have bad news for you all, for those of you who do not I will explain it here again. We are having a buttload of trouble with both the center console, and the pillars. The way they clip in has created unexpected problems for us. We are working to get around this problem , but expect it to take about another week before we get one out and ready to go. If at that time we can not solve this problm, we may offer to wrap your stock peices in real Carbon Fiber. I was trying to stay away from this, but if it is our only otion for a while, we will offer it. I do believe that we will b able to solve it, but at this time we are not sure. I am sorry again for the delays. My buddy is supposed to post up some pics (motorcycle parts) tonight, and I know we were supposed to have done this a while back. But he said when he tried to the last couple of days the site has been down. So tonight we should have them up. Sorry for the delays here too. Oh wel my boss is coming up here as we speak so I better get off this lol... more updates as they come

Thats getting excessive, the dash is one thing, but all the way back to the rear seats? Thats gonna look goofy, why not get a carbon fiber headliner? seat covers? IMO its not gonna work that well, stick with exterior parts and dash area only Carbon Fiber

There are two things that i really want in carbon fiber. For one the part that says celica on it on the rear hatch, i think apr used to make them but dont anymore. And the other thing is the plastic piece that is in between the hood and the windshield, the piece that is under the windshield wipers, that would be great!!!!

LoL guys, it's nice to see Ideas flowing, but we gotta just wait and see how his first projects go down, no sense in bogging his mind down w/ more ideas and making him want to do more than he can at once. Just relax, good things come in time smile

I am not realy sure what that part is called, but I know what you are talking about. The plastic peice where the wipers attach to the car, and if I remember right have little vents or whatever in em. I am sure we will be doing that peice soon. If we do not have any ideas on how to do our previous 2 projects, then we are going to be moving on to projects such as that that actually screw in or have clips hold them. Will et you all know again at end of next week.

I know what he's talking about, that would look sick... It would really be set off if you have PIAA Carbon Fiber Wiper Blades... which is probably my next mod. thumbsup

ya he's got it right... right. it's between the windshield and the hood, the vents that are there are the inlets to your heater/ac. it could be pritty nice, but let's stay focused on the JDM center consol and a-pillers (even if the it comes down to the a-pillers just being overlays)

^^^^^I know exactly what you're talkin about...let's see if this actually goes through, and then jump to other stuff...excuse me for being skeptical, it's just that I've been around this site for a long time and I've seen these come and go and they always end in "oh, sorry guys, it got too hard, I"m not gonna do it."

ok guys I know that these always seem to fall through, but this one is not falling through just hittin a major speed bump. It is not too hard, just requires a little special attention. This will be the first time I have ever worked with clips, so that s part of the problem. Not too many parts on motorcycles clip in happywink But we are not going to give up. Has become one of our life goals now is to figure out a cost and time efficient way to do them. I will be putting a guy on making some covers for them, and my covers will be as close to having a Carbon Fiber cover as you can come (looks of course). I hate it when you order a dash kit and it is huge, and still doesn't even really cover the part. So we will see what we ca ndo about that. Again sorry for the dissapointing news, but bad news does not mean that we are going to give up. And besides that I know that all you sceptics out there will faint when we do finally post that pic of the first one rofl ok guys I gotta get back to my real job now, will probably not post up for a few days now so I can have all evening in the shop.

ok guys here is an update that I think may grab some interest. I have decided that I do not want ot buy all the parts that we are going to be offering, so I have a deal to offer to all of you. But do not take it that we will be making everything that you are about to hear about. What we decided to do is offer and extreme discount to those of you who will supply any part that we are going to be making for us to mold and return to you. Now we are only going to be molding these parts for now. But it will speed our production of every part to have our next mold ready while we are doing others. What we are going to try to do it pick 3-4 parts and actually put them all into production. It will be our attempt to make up for stiffing you all on the a-pillars and Center console until we can get them going as well. (and BTW we did make up some huge ground on the console this weekend, but still not good enough for us to sell). So if you have a part that you think we would be interested in making please e-mail me at administrator@midcomachine.com And of course we are only going to be using one part for molds, so the first person who gets ahold of me is the only one that will be recieving the discount when it hits production. I came to this decision on the sole purpose that I did not want to buy a bunch of parts that would be used for a mold and colect dust. Also as soon as we finish the mold we will of course return the part to you A.S.A.P. so that you are not stuck without it holding on us. Just a quick overview, if you have a part that you think we would be interested in (keep in mind I do drive a new celi so OEM parts I have covered) contact me and we will discuss it. If we decide that we want to use it for a mold and future production I will have you mail it to me, mold it and return it to you. And for this inconvience to you, you will recieve a huge discount and the first one that we produce. I thank you all in advance for your help, and also that you all thus far for your patience.

wow that last pic is blurry as hell.. oh well, still no good news for you guys except that we are going to be finishing up the molds for engine plastics (GT and GTS) very soon and should have some pics and prices on it at the same time of course lol. Today I am going to pull the... uhh... (I am not sure what you would call it but the black peice that goes around (near) gauges that has the 2 screws) off and start molding it as well. So we are fianlly getting on the right track after such a hectic start, and I do apologize to you all about the wait, and thank you all for you patience. Even though I personally would have given up on it by now. I do promise we are working our tails off trying to get it done, but it is something 100% new to us, although we love the plastics to the engine because it is one of the very few peices on this car that has no clips lol. But expect us to have a finished product poste dup very soon.

Thanks again you all,

i think your talking about the "hood" right, if it's the black part between the stearing wheel and the clear plastic? and not to be too pickky sounding or demainding but rolleyes have you ever thought about placing something like a TRD emblem on you Carbon Fiber sheet and cast it in the epoxy with the Carbon Fiber (so that both the Carbon Fiber and the emlem are covered by the epoxy)

Carbon fibre center console = nice!
But do you ship overseas, or do I have to get a 3rd person living in the us involved to get it here in norway?

I'd love some door panels in Carbon Fiber. Would be sweet.
http://www.seibon.com/Products/CFBodyKit/CFDoors/picCFDoorsCivic9600-DoorPannel.htm

And the...ehm...door...what are they called? The panels with the CELICA writing on them...You see them when you open your doors... Some one who hasn't had to learn his
english by watching movies help me out here... anyways,
those (whatever they are called) would also be nice.

Yes still around, but hanging by a thread. I spent a lot more money setting this up than I realized, and almost threw myself into bankruptcy. But so far I have molds done on apillars OEM, engine plastics, and the JDM console. As far as I know these are the only molds we got done before we ran into financial trouble, but I may be wrong because we have my car torn into peices and I was just letting them all work on what they like. I will get back toyou all once I know for sure. and sultan, I really appreciate the fact that not everyone has given up on me.

Later guys

Hahaha, dont even bother wasting your time with that. I sent him my engine plastics at the very beginning of this thread. I think it was back in June. I just now got them back, and only because I had to hastle him about it. I was VERY patient with waiting on this, but he kept telling me they were sent and that they would show up that weekend, and I never got them. I finally sent him another message towards the end of October, and I bitched him out and he over nighted them. He had never even tried to send them all those times before. Then after I got them, they were covered in a bunch of oil, grease and other nasty stuff. He never even cleaned them, and when I sent them, they were almost new. I was pissed. And thats not even the end of it. I didnt get back the engine cover and ecu cover. And now that I have asked for those back, I havent heard from him yet.

I remember reading this back when? Carbon Fiber this and Carbon Fiber that. I stayed away and I'm glad I did. He went through a lot, so did I and I'm not posting here something I can't produce a good quality and on time. I thought this was dead to be honest. A real 1 or 2 time thing from some guy in his basement would be OK. I'm sorry CarbonfibrDesign that it took a Celica website full of teens and young adults to almost put you in bankruptcy? Some business you're running.
If you think I'm a hard ass on this, yes I am.
You're not the first. Promises upon promises on a product we all want, but you can't deliver. This has happened before.
I hope you can recover from this. I realy do.
That reminds me to start up some legit GB's once again for the Celica community. Coming soon.

The parts I got back took a bit of cleaning to get them back the way they were. Its just that the grease was in so many holes and folds. I noticed that he also split my fusebox cover when I was cleaning them off. I have been greatly disappointed by this guy.

If you do talk to him, please get him to send back my ecu and engine cover. I NEED those parts the most!
