I have the opportunity to get a stellar deal on an Audi A6, only problem is that the vehicle is in France. The seller has ties to FedEx and has included shipping in the price of the vehicle. He is verified by SquareTrade so I feel relatively secure about the legitamacy of the deal as my money will be protected by them.
The vehicle will be delivered to my door, however from there I have no idea what I'll need to do. I am trying to find stuff from the DMV as well as the federal government about what I'll need to get it licensed and legal but I cannot find much useful info. The car is US spec and has all the proper EPA documentation already done, but what else would I need?
Has anyone here had any experience or heard anything about this sort of transaction? What government agencies might I have to inform and what other taxes might I have to pay? I'm still searching and about to call the DMV but any info y'all could provide would be awesome!
