my car is not a daily driver ,im always really careful opening the doors , and i decided to take it out tonight to the shopping center . so i just got in my car and slowy pull my doors down , then out of nowhere BAM -CRASH my doors came falling down smack down on my car,close to the floor . fu#k now im going to have to bring it to the shop again . i dont know what the hell is going on . something happen inside of the hinges. maybe its bad installation or i really hope that my hinges did not break apart , that would be a few grand to replace. i was really worried that it will punch a hole right out of my fenders . it didnt seem to happen . but it did knock off my side kits. i will have to check it in the day to be sure if it ripp into anything in my car .i sure hope my shop does not charge me a few hundred dollars to put it back. this really sucks big time!

sorry to hear that - what brand lambo doors did you have and who did the install? sounds like a shotty job for them to fall off like that.

DAMN man!! I can't believe that...that shop you went to must be pretty damn bad. I've seen you post about previous problems w/ your doors. If it's the install, the shop should take care of it for free. It's their fault, not yours.

im gonna bring it to the shop first thing tomorrow morning and will let everyone know as soon as i get back. fuk im pisses now! the damn thing nearly cut my fingers off! i will find out for sure what happened tomorrow whether if its the kit or the installation. for now i dont want to open the door anymore than i must cause i really dont want to fuk anything else up to void any repair work from my shop so hopefully i will find out as soon as possible and will let you all know as soon as i find out.

good luck, thats why i didnt get the lambo doors for my Celi, the shops here dont know how to install the damn thing

why don't you just install it yourself? everyone is saying that it's really easy to install..at least the bold on one...which one do you have?!!?

install myself, no way . its not as easy as it seems . my shop is a shop which does a lot of custom work for car shows. they have a lot of showcars in everyday. and even they had a hard time doing the doors . they had 2 people , including the owner work on it. it took both of them from 9am to 8pm to finish. they said its not that hard to install the doors BUT the rewiring of all the radios,power windows,alarm system,etc was a bit*h. they also have to take off the front end of the car and the side fenders as well. just that will take a lot of time. even they almost gave up ,when they could not figure out why the alarm was not coming back on. but after some more sweat and hard work they found out what the problem was. trust me its ALOT of work . its almost like taking apart the entire car and putting it back again in a new custom way. because wires will have to be extened. anyways i will let you all know what really happen as soon as i find out in the next day or so.

hi i dont really want to say that my kit is bad until i find out for sure if its the kit or the installation from my shop.thats because the kit was bought from a very professional place , and a very helpful person. so i do not want to put them down , it might not be the hinges at all or it could be .thats why i want to know for sure before i say anything about them. as for installation its not as cheap as it sounds when installing them these shops around are greedy. why dont you go out there and ask all the shops in your area about the price to install them. and let us know what they will charge you to do it. i bet it will not be cheap. it normally goes for 400.00 - 700.00 depending on what shop.thats what i got here i went to everyshop in maryland were im located and ask around about 95% of the shop said they will not even do it because of insurance and crap like that. so its cuts it down to only 5% of the shops that i can choose from . thats my expierence for installing them. others have said different things . but thats my 2 cents. why dont you go out and find out what they will really charge you to install them . its better than just guessing. better safe than sorry.

Im pissed at getting things in the mail broken, so I know how you feel... But Trust me, you should be able to tell if its the kit or the install and if its the install you DO NOT HAVE TO PAY A CENT... Just be firm with them, your the customer, you have power...

Dude your shop ARE idiots..The Carexcess kit dosn't require that your extend your wires first off. I have a theory and tell me if I'm close or not.

Go look at your car, put your door up(if you still can), Look under the gas shock and tell me if there is a little silver pin holding the shock in place. Next, look at the top of the shock and see if there are any threads showing (the top gets screwed into the hinge)

ok its actually just the drivers side door, which fell and i was still at home getting ready to leave, good thing huh.but anyways i just stop by my shop and talk to them about this . the shop owner said that from peaking into it. the bolts are still on the doors but it looks like the piston(the shocks) which had a screw on it pop out. he try to tell me that if thats what happen it will not be their fault .so it will be a few hundred dollars more for them to take it apart again. that would really suck. then its time for the blame game again he said when the kit came in the shocks were already attached to the hinges. that is bull sh*t . hey wil you know what i mean . the shocks do not come attached to the hinges. i remember when i got them . the shop said that i will have to call the place were i got my hinges and tell them that the shocks pop out from bad craftmanship.come on the hinges does not seem to be broken ,so that must be bad installation on the shop . they are the ones who put the bolts on and it came off.i mean the bolts is not attached to my car until they do it right???? after 45 min of bullsh*t then the owner said oh yeah i think we had to screw the shocks on . so then he will open it up and look at it to make sure on friday. they better not charge me again if this is their fault that it did not stay on. saying if this is bad installation then that again only proves your kit is only as good as your installer. i wished that i had found another shop to do this. it wolud have save a lot of wasted time .i guess until friday i will know for sure SAYING if they actually tell me the truth. i will update you soon.

Bullsh*t man!!! Tell them its their fault...That shock has to be hand screwed into the hinge on top. The botton has to be inserted into a hold at the bottom of the hinge and then clamped w/ a metal clip which is supplied..They did not install it right.

You know about the kit that i have. Well my shock finally blew out and now you can't lift the door up at all. I did get it all the way up and now it won't come down. There was 2 of us hanging on my door with our feet off the ground trying to get the door closed!!!! I am really starting to hate this MOD...

Now i have to try and figure out how to get the door closed so i can drive 3 hours to my shop to get it fixed!!!!!!

yeah...i am still wondering what kit it is? then again maybe he does not want to say because it is not the kit that was defective but the installation that was defective.

or the kit could be the one that starts with a G, as in Generic

it could be the kit, it could be the installation.. it could be a lot of things. I just don't understand keeping the brand a secret. If it's not the kit, it's not like we won't believe that the crappy installation caused the problem. Plenty of other people have the carexess kit, and I have not heard one person say that their door fell off

Jamie, if you are who I think you are...I believe I told you Springmans was sh*t when I got the carexcess kit. ComicBookGuy has Carexcess hinges, but from what I've heard and he has told me, the shop screwed up big time. It's not a hard mistake to make w/ the install, but it can be costly if the hinge isn't screwed in all the way.

hi , the car excess kit is the best out there right now,its the strongest and already predrilled for your car . i really dont know 100% what happen to mine but so far it seems to be the shops fault for installing them wrong.its just really hard finding a shop which wont screw you up. wil i know you had problems with springmans too. but i will know for sure what happen on friday. i will let you then.i just really hope my hinges did not crack or anything like that.

I left him a message. Mark (Springmans) is going to fix the hinge the first week in Augest for me. I don't have any extra money right now for Ian to help me out, unless he can help me out for free, which would be awesome, but doubtful.

Best bet is to keep calling him... He said that if mark won't get you new shocks, he'll get you some for free, you just have to send him yours.

ok wil i will call ian right now. i want to learn more about what happen so that my shop cant ripp me off saying its something else that broke. wil can you beleive what the shop told me . they said the hinge was bad quality and they will have to remake it so that it will hold better. these guys just what to charge me more money to do it. that will screw my warranty too from decah. i will tell them just install it the way its should be . im going to tell ian this and see what he thinks . the carexcess kit should work good if its installed right. theres no need for a shop to customize it . come on, thats plain stupid. i want my kit the way it should be. nothing more or less.

huh? im going to bring it to the shop today friday morning, i try to get in touch with ian but he was busy . so i left a message for him to call me back. but all i know is im going to let the shop know to NOT custom my hinges to make it to the way they think is best .they only want to do this because if they just screw it back on they will get no money for the labor. so if they customize it they will get 300.00 to 450.00 dollars from me . thats fu*king crazy. i will NOT pay them anymore just to put it back on right . i paid them to do it right the first time already . they got 500.00 dollars for that . and now they messed up so they want more . no fu*king way...

JGMX: where did you hear about carexcess hinges falling down? I know EVERYONE who has these hinges on their celica. Hell, I probably had something to do w/ the sale to them

FU*K ,FU*K , FU*K,THIS REALLY REALLY SUCKS . i just picked up my car and found out that they put ANOTHER dent in the same fu*king spot as the last time. the shop manager is a big fu*king lair, he told me that he was going to take off the front kit and side fenders of the car to prevent and dents from forcing a tool in there to tighten up the screws. so i said ok . because i did not want to take anymore chances of dents on my side fenders again.thats because we had that same problem before the shop manager force a tool in my fenders the first time to tighten a screw and did not take off the kit either thats how i got my first dent in the same spot. so i left in the morning and came back in about 5 hours to pick it up and found another fu*king dent in the same area . AND THE DOORS WERE NOT LINE UP because he was lazy and did not want to take off the kit again so that it will take much less time to try to screw the bolt back in without taking off the fender and front bodykit. its now really difficult to get in and out of the car .plus the door is NOT even close to being line up. it leaning towards the floor . so when i want to close it . i will have to go down the car and LIFT the door up so it lines up with the door locks then push it in. this is terrible . so when i went back to the shop those ASSHO*ES said that the boss is not there and that he was probally not going to do it again . so that means after they got lazy , lied to me about taking off the kit AND put another dent on my car . then they say we are no longer going to do anymore more work on the car.this is really pissing me off. hey wil i was wondering do you know if its still possible to tighten my doors if they are hanging towards the floor when they are open? they are just offline when open.its really hard to explain they must have finish it in about 20-25 mins. what a terrible job now im going to have to repair this dent, repaint the fender, and take off the kit to line the door back up . this is going to cost me at least another 500.00-600.00 . i really need to talk to ian but he has not responded to my recorded message yet. does anyone here live in maryland who knows of any good hook ups? to off set the cost. and also with a good rep. thanks for anyones help.

werd that really does blow only thing i can say is if they don't do something about it or even help you out a little since they did do the poor installation you should report them to the bbb (better business bureau) write tot hem regarding your situation. even if you have to wait it'll be worth it in the end! it's sound very stressful i'd hate to loose out couple g's on some person being lazy and not being motivated to do a great job!!! hope you get it fixed take it easy!

kool wil i will call you on monday.and thanks for everyones input on this matter . the truth is not like they will fix it, but EVEN if they said we will fix it again HAHAHA , i will NOT bring it back to them again ive had it with that terrible shop. its because when i went back to talk to the employees about them not taking the right steps to fix it right . they were all lazy, and piss off. just because they put ANOTHER dent on my car and took a short cut to install my doors . the manager TOTALLY LIED to me about doing it the right way . then took the short cut . so they took about 25 mins instead of 3- 4 hours to do it right. the dumb manager did this twice and as a result 2 dents in the same spot. anyways im sayinng if you had this many problems with one shop , after going back again and again about 3-4 times of screw ups . the employees are piss off at me now just because they screw upbig time . they were all saying FU*k, over and over again. really angry. NOW the thing is if i bring it back to these piss off people who cant do anything right they WILL FOR SURE put some kind of damage on my car to get me back maybe screw with my engine or scrape my car and rims. its sort of like going to a resturant and saying i dont like this dish 3 to 4 times with the same cooks. you know what i mean? they will most likely spit or do something to your food for that.why take anymore chances with these fu*king misleading assho*les .i will just get someone else to do it instead. but again thanks for everyones input. i really hope none of you have to go through this kind of hassle. i mean the kit is the best out there , its really good quality, but if you get the wrong shop to do it . its going to cost yopu big time.

Someone could of saved me, but no it was too late for me to back out. But Springmans/KillerKustoms treated me awsome and is still treating me awesome. They are fixing my hinges in a couple of weeks. I don't recommend the Lambo doors to anyone (Either Kit) unless it isn't a daily driver. To much of a pain in the ass IMO.

Dave waht else are you getting done with your car?

I'm just getting hinges taken off, having my sideskirts fixed, and getting a new paint job because the original one sucked ass. supposedly it will done end of day tmrw or thursday

Jamie, I wish you could look at the Carexcess hinges...You wouldn't say what you just said. There have been NO PROBLEMS w/ the carexcess kit, only springmans. No matter how they fix it, it's gonna go bad again. His kit overextends the gas shocks. Making them blow or lock up. Also, his design isn't solid enough for the endweight of the doors. I've tried to tell mark, but he thinks he's god or something and won't listen.

If that is true Wil, and i had the money i would go to them to get new ones. Since i am strapped for cash right now i am stuck with the ones i got.
