After having absolute ZERO problems with the MTEC lighting installed to my celica since end of 2003... And writing all the positive personal reviews of MTEC - Plus after selling over 4,000 sets of MTEC with very few issues being reported... For those few persons who still believe that MTEC isn't right for them, I decided to add another line of lighting to the store - PLUS program the options into the store where you could choose the lighting you want for your car... "YOUR-CHOICE LIGHTING PACKAGE" NOKYA Arctic White Low Beams and NOKYA Super Yellow Fog Lights have been added!
https://celicahobby.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=28&products_id=224
To get things off to a good start, I had to take some photos of the Nokya lighting... Link to the Gallery of those photos... https://celicahobby.com/gal3/inst_nokya
These are the Low Beams - Notice that the Fog lights are still on

I have the Nokya Arctic Purple highs and lows... no problems after three months. Not quite as bright as the MTECs I used to have, but the color is better.

Lets see how fast these burn-out and/or short out the wiring... STFU asshole, your wiring shorted out because of YOUR install. Why dont you go buy some silvertstars for 20 bucks for a bulb. I think you can take a chance on NOKYAs for the price offered. Besides NOKYA has been around since 1998 if you dont believe me check out their site http://www.spwindustries.com/nokya/halogens.php . This isnt an arguing match, 90% of bulbs going out prematurly are due to the instalation. If you believe these bulbs are bad-dont buy them, you cant even judge them if you dont own them. So before you bash a product you know nothing about. Would you say the same thing about PIAAs? You should judging by your judgement.

i mean buy the hid bulbs and stick um into stock sockets? Real HID bulbs comes in 3 kinds: 1) D2R - "R" stands for reflector. These bulbs have built-in shields and are designed for reflector housing. 2) D2S - "S" stands for shield. These bulbs don't have built-in shields and are designed for projector housing with shields. 3) Rebased bulbs - These are essentially D2S/D2R bulbs with modified bases to fit OEM housing. For example, to fit a 2000+ Celica, you would need the H7 rebased bulbs. Keep in mind, even with the rebased bulbs, you would still need to modify your spacer or use piano wires to hold the bulbs in place. I have a HID kit from an Infinity G35 with D2R bulbs. I was able to use the stock clip to hold the bulbs in place. The D2R/D2S bulbs are similar to H7 in size. So, all three bulb types will fit our projectors. I installed Mcculloch HID kit (with rebased bulbs) on Renee's car. And I have D2R on mine. I have tried a lot of different brands of "HID" bulbs before going with the reall thing. MTEC is by far the brightest. Nokya is the prettiest (in terms of color). And I had PIAA Ion Yellow fogs for a long time.

One problem -- an HID bulb has a totally different light pattern than a halogen bulb, even when the bases are the same.
Think about it, the shape of a filament is going to be pretty different than a arc of ignited gas between two electrodes.
If you've got projectors or housings designed to match a halogen bulb, it won't produce a correct beam pattern with an HID bulb.

And the answer is yes. Of course, putting a bulb that's not designed for the housing will require modification and the result will not be perfect.

On true HID setup you will also need to install ballasts and ignitors. Im running 12,000K HID's at the moment and its like driving in daylight.

removing the headlight assembly is not necessary - but it is necessary on high performance bulbs that you not touch the glass with your fingures or any dirt from your engine bay

Had a set of Nokyas but really didnt like them. Visibilty went down a lot too. The bulbs for the low beams are so big, the projector cant possible focus the beam correctly. Everytime I'm on the interstate, I hate passing semi-truck. Its like the headlight has a little spot lot of its own. When the bulbs are in, theres a small little section that reflects from the projector and gets project directly into a semi's side view mirror, its annoying too. When the car is parked and its misty, hazy, or foggy out and the lights are on, there's like a ray of light that comes from the very corner of the projector and goes up and away from the car( rh to the right lh to the left) sitting from the driver seat.
And yes the bulbs were installed correctly.

I always like the yellow fogs because it is difficult to match the fogs to lowbeam (color wise). And yellow fogs make the car stand out a bit.

Hey Isaac, I just ordered the Nokya's but I've now heard they're not as good at lighting the road as stock. Is there any truth to this?

They work just fine for me... I haven't had any problems with them - what you have probably heard is relating to the PURPLE bulbs... which is horrible lighting But as far as the Arctic whites... you can read the reviews that had been posted earlier in this thread - and you can also view the photos and click the links listed in this topic too Cheers

Like I said above, Nokya is the prettiest in terms of color. Looks great, Warren. I have to disagree Tony. PIAA Plasma Spark Blue is definitely the best hands down. Visibility at night isn't bad. I've been through MTEC, Nokya & others & I guarantee that these are the best. Yes, they are the most expensive but if you want the best you have to pay for the best. Not DOT approved so they are not sold in stores anywhere. Got mine from a dude in Hong Kong on Ebay. They look awesome on a Celica...I get nothing but props on them...especially if you have 4-led hyper white wedges. Perfect for shows. Never got a citation for them

They work just fine for me... I haven't had any problems with them - what you have probably heard is relating to the PURPLE bulbs... which is horrible lighting But as far as the Arctic whites... you can read the reviews that had been posted earlier in this thread - and you can also view the photos and click the links listed in this topic too Cheers You're right about the purple. I have Nokya purple bulbs... they look sweet and were awesome. Then I drove in the rain with them and couldn't see lane markers. I'm going to keep them until they burn out (well actually, I hope the car is sold by then... but that's a different story), then swap them for the Arctic White Nokya's.

Today I had been working all Friday morning and afternoon with my vendors for AEM/DC Sports and PIAA products. All tracking numbers will be posted tonight - Although some of you have already received your orders from the first batch that went out earlier this week... this second batch should complete all past orders and make everything current.

I want to see if there are tons of "my Nokya lows burned out after three weeks..." threads now. If there are, I think we can conclude all those MTEC threads were poor install jobs.

When installing, you have to make sure that you do not touch the glass part of the bulb or leave any kind of grease on them. Also, try not to scratch the blue tip. Install only takes a couple of minutes for low beams and a little longer for fogs(if you've done it before).

third one coming around?
#2584 Cory, I have emailed you at xearo @adelphia.net a few times (1/27, 1/28, 2/2, 2/3 and most recently, last night 2/4). I still have not heard any replies back from you to confirm substitution of the NOKYA H7 for unavailable MTEC H7 bulbs. I am assuming that since you just now posted here, this substitution would be OK to do. If there is a problem with this, please PM me by clicking the "PM" button that is to the right of any of my posts - and we can work out whatever needs to be worked out If I don't hear anything back from you, you will be part of the 3rd batch which ships out also as USPS Priority Mail on Monday 2/7 to your 21701 address

^^^ It is illegal to have RED lights in the front of your vehicle - its called, "impersonating an officer". Because of this, we will not be selling anything other than what is considered legal in the United States - ARCTIC WHITE and SUPER YELLOW. Good luck in finding anything RED Closest thing to RED from this manufacturer is PURPLE. Here is an example of what that looks like.

mine really don't seem as bright as in those pics. Is it the pics, or does it matter which way they are plugged into the wires.

Ha, i have piaa fogs, based on recommendation from SmutasticGT on how long they lasted. I basically do all my own work on my celica, how the can you state the above? I read the directions in the box like a person with common sense should. ur still an idiot, I had the same bulbs b4 I got mtecs and had no probs...

Cmon bro, give the guy a break, dont need to call him asshole, yah he had bad luck with the bulbs but so did a lot of other members that ordered the same bulbs so its just his judgment and ppl are entitled to there own judgement so just chill buddy, not tryin to start an argument but i know bryan (polykarb) and hes a good guy, his comments are kinda whack at times but thats just the way he is...so chill out buddy, were all here for the same reason...our celicas so lets just all get along lol
