ok last week i woke up adn my little bro "minute younger then me" tells me that my right rear light isnt working so i get pissed and go investigate so i go in the car and press the brakes and the lights work i go reverse and the lights works
so i was like ummm... seems to be working so i drive forward and and i nottice my right rear light doesnt go on but my left does. So by now i know the bulb isnt burnt bc it turns on when i go reverse and when i press the brakes. so plz can someone tell me whats wrong is it a fuse the burnt or bad wiring and also i didnt customize anything except the headlights wich was 3 months ago.

If I'm reading this correctly, you're talking about your top most light in your rear lights. The one that comes on when the lights are on, then gets brighter when you hit the brakes. It could be a dual filament bulb, meaning that there's one filament for normal driving lights, and a second filament that lights up when you apply the brakes. Maybe one of those is blown, and still allows the other to work properly. Only one way to find out. Pull that sucker out and investigate

The fuse box is in the passenger side footwell. There's a little panel that has to be popped off behind the center console. This will reveal the fuse box. Then, use your owner's manual and/or https://celicahobby.com/tech/tsb2/ARTICLE_FUSEBLOCK_DIAGRAM.pdf to locate the correct fuse. If you pull out the fuse and the little wire piece inside is broke/burnt, it's blown and you need to replace it.

I would still pull out the bulb and inspect it. This is the simplest thing to do. I still think it's a dual filament bulb, and one of the two filaments is burnt out.

100% sure the problem is the bulb. The small filament is blown. -it happpened to me- Just change the bulb # 7443 ($1-$2)

Also, if it's a fuse, NONE of the lights would work, not just one of the individual lights.

My brake lights, head lights, all other lights work, but tail lights would not work.

Brought the car to the shop that previously installed an alarm system and VDR dash board camera. The guy spent 3 hours checking all wires, finally found the tail light relay and the defogger relay broken. They are the 2 relays on the extreme right of the fuse panel at the passenger left knee.

That was why there was a burn smell in the car and the tail light fuse kept popping until the relay complete burned off the contact and stay open. I have 2 LED bulbs for brake/tail light. Brake lights are on a sperate circuit and works O.K

The car is 18 years old, now parked outdoors. Have to find the right relays, probably made by Denso. Any bro has the part OEM number, please help.
