Hey guys. Silly question. Today I went to get my 2001 Celica GT E-Checked. They couldn't do it because they said they couldn't remove the cap covering the OBDII. I tried as well, but couldn't figure out how to do it. I'm sure there is an easy way but I don't want to risk breaking anything.

Any ideas?

Mine always feels like it'll break, but I promise it wont. Just need to get your finger tip on one of those upper corners and peel and pull. It'll come off.

Needle-nose pliers will work great for the job. Dont worry about tearing the cap. It can easily be replaced for a buck from your local auto parts store. But i'd instead recommend, if you choose to keep it covered, that you order a Bluetooth OBD2 reader to fill that port. They cost about $11 to $25. They can easily pull CELL codes or reset them after you've fixed the issue. They also can report a lot of information from your running engine and driving habits.
