I've been searching for a new 1zz since I've blown my original and I found a nice looking custom engine on monkeywrenchracing.com and I like the sound of the 12:1 compression ratio and better pistons and valves but I'm worried about the reliability and the 30 day warranty of the engine. I want a new engine and this seems to be a good option since it's already upgraded. If anyone has any advice or suggestions it would be majorly appreciated.

You should be fine with purchasing from Monkey Wrench Racing.
They've been around for a very long time -- They are well established.

Would you consider their engines reliable my only worry is that I pay the whole 3,500 and after 30 days the engine goes bad .

Products go bad. Just like your original Toyota OEM engine that you are replacing.
Both Toyota and MWR have a proven track record of good products.

If you're worried about it, then don't spend near $3500 on an engine. Especially for a car that probably isn't worth $3500. Believe me, I wouldn't normally things like that, but it's just not economical.

Your bio also says that your GT is an auto, so it's not like you could over-rev, miss-shift, etc which is pretty much MWR's big selling point with this built engine. If you went to sell the car you'd never make that money back. Even if you do have big plans (turbo/supercharger) the high compression would have to be undone before even thinking about forced induction.

What I'm trying to say is that $3500 for a built engine for a car that probably isn't worth that much, isn't tracked, and has an auto trans is not worth it.

If anything, get a facelift (03+) engine with the revised piston rings or just rebuild your old 1ZZ. Both of those options make the most sense to me, but I don't know what you've got planned.

Taking this into account im looking at their 1zz rebuild with the 12:1 forged pistons and for 1000 less and if i wanted to go back i could add on. it seems like a better deal.
