Can't lie, I'm a risk taker but I would be alarmed for sure if I heard that. If you're able to do it/if you can afford it, you could always start with a valve adjustment and take it from there.
Thanks for the response, yeah I've been more of a Honda guy for the past couple years and done several rebuilds on D and B series alike as well as valve adjustments. I know our cars have the bucket and shim style lifters and after watching a couple videos and reading through the service manual, I'm fairly confident that I could do the adjustment myself.
My only question would be, is the TSS tool for valves required? I cant really justify spending 50 bucks on a tool if there's another possibly easier way to do it. Ill be doing the adjustment Sunday and will post updates then.
