I have a problem with my Celica GTS 2000. This is going to be a long explanation of the problem and what I have done. I need your help with this. Thanks in advance.

So I have a code P1349 no valve lift.
I bough this car about two months ago. For what the seller told me this car sat for a long time 3-4 years before selling it. The car was all original and ran well for the most part. I have fixed most of the problems. The car since I bought it only had that code and no other code has come up ever since. This is what I have done:

1. Change the oil.
2. Cleaned OCV (oil control valve) filters.
3. Change lift bolts to the newer version. It had the original ones.
4. Changed both OCV.
5. Did a diagnostic test con OCV closest to the front on the engine (closest to the serpentine belt) by attaching 2 wires to it and connecting it to the battery once the car is on operating temperature. The car did not lower its revolutions, OCV clicked. I did this on the old and new OCV and had the same result, no rpm change.

The car has a high iddle about 1200 1000 rpm. I don't know if this is related.
I don't know what else to do. Please any help is greatly appreciated.

P1349 is variable valve timing, not valve lift.

Dirty oil, sludge, carbon deposit ect may be impeding oil flow and preventing variable valve timing.

You can try dissolving deposits and flushing engine oil with Motor Medic's GUNK ($6 Walmart). That may clear up any oil blockage. I would use it half strength and idle engine 15 to 20 minutes. My dumped oil was thick, black and sludgy. Do it with 2 or 3 oil changes. Engine would be clean and runs smoother.
