i was staring at my brake calipers today and i noticed that the calipers on the front are larger than the calipers on the rear. so i went and looked up the vehilcle specs and it say:

front:ventilated discs with single piston and floating caliper

rear: solid discs with single piston and floating caliper.

my question is how come the front calipers are bigger than the rears when they are both single piston?? sorry if its a dumb question but just curious confused grin

because most of the load and braking power is put on the front. Momentum wants to keep your car's mass going straight. The mass of your car strains the front.

so if i were to change my front rotors and brake to brembo ones...would it be better to leave the stock rear calipers or transfer the front ones to the rear (if this is possible!)

I don't think you can transfer directly, the distance between the two holes mounting the caliper might be different.

For the front, I have a custom made bridge mounted with Altezza front 2 pots calipers with brembo discs.
