I tried searching but couldn't find it. The wiring diagram for the celica is bit complex too.
I am trying to find a wire that gets 0 volts when the doors are shut and 12 volts when (one of) the doors is/are open.
I wanna hook up footwell neons too it, so they only turn on when the doors are open. I could get it from my roof-light but there must be an easier wire
Any help?

Have you thought about a fuse tap? https://celicahobby.com/tech/tsb2/ARTICLE_FUSEBLOCK_DIAGRAM.pdfLooks like the dome light is linked to fuse 20. There's also fuse 5 that says "DOOR," but I'm not sure what that fuse is for--20A seems kind of high.

The door trigger in the Celica and most import cars is negative. Only Ford uses positive trigger doors (that I know of). Wire the positive lead of your neon to a fused +12 source and the ground lead to the door pin switch (the plunger in the jam). You can trace the door wire to the kicks if you like. The wire is Red with White stipe and will rest at ground when the door is opened. When the door is opened the negative wire from the neo will be grounded and turn the neon on.
