I got a Passport 8500 for Christmas! Woohoo! Works great, but there's ONE small problem. I've never ever found a radar detector that was loud enough. I have $2500 stereo system in my car, and even cranked to HALF of my normal listening volume, the radar detector is already drowned out, even on it's loudest volume and loudest tone set. Anyone have any suggestions besides "don't listen to loud music"? spineyes

I'm wondering if there's a way to pipe the radar tones through the stereo system itself. It's got a headphone jack on it...

Mount it in the headrest of your car, right next to your ear laughsilly

wire a little speaker up through the headphone jack and mount it in your headrest or around there.

Turn the music down, because if you can't hear the radar detector, how can you possibly hear the cars/sirens/road/surroundings

To have played and laughed with enthusiasm
and sung with exultation
To know even one life has breathed easier
This is to have succeeded.
