Hey folks!
I was doing some engine work today and this bit of my alternator (circled in the pic) just totally snapped off. My girl is in rough shape grin the kid I bought her from. Hardly any pressure on the bolt and it just sheared off. I haven't taken the alternator out to check (I was in that engine 6 hours today, I'm just exhausted) but can anyone tell me if this is a bolt I'll be able to replace, and if so, best place to find it?
Thanks!

iirc, that to me looks like it's just for grounding. The other end probably connects to the body of your Celica somewhere.

Another bolt will be easy to find and should be simple to replace. Remove the old bits from the first bolt and replace it with a new 10mm. AutoZone or Pepboys can get you a bolt for under a buck. Have a tech walk out to your car to take a look, or bring the broken bolt head and body in to the store with you.

Provided that you are able to remove the body of the old bolt, finding a new one should be extremely easy.

as a side comment, your engine looks very clean from what I see in your photo thumbsup

Thanks!
Totally not my engine though lol. I found a pic online that showed the part that broke. I'm working on it though. I'm actually going to have to rewire the entire engine. I don't know what happened to this car before I got it, but I had three connectors just fall off today. I had to splice headlights in yesterday because the connectors were burned from the kid trying to put things where they shouldn't go without the proper fitting kits. I'm working on sensors, did the AIC (which was just flat out missing) and knock (which was fine, but held in with the wiring equivalent of string) Not having that ground on the alternator made the engine a bit touchy on the way home.
My engine will totally look like that (but with more blue!) when I'm done lol.
Thanks for the input though, that one is a 10mm, so should be a easy find 😊

My brain is just too shot after today and I was worried I may have to just replace the alternator...
Allllll of the intake connectors are broken, as is the connector for the alternator. It's just sliding the metal bits into place and hoping they stay...
This is the unfortunate situation I inherited...
