Hey folks,

New guy here, just picked up an ‘03 GT for a steal.
Computer is throwing these codes
P0100
P0110
P0031
P0037

Now I’m reading the causes of these codes and it seems overwhelmingly that the cold air intake installed on the car could be a part of or the cause of most of these codes.

Additional info: the only mod I’m aware of is the cold air intake, no exhaust modifications done. The car is a GT, but has a GT-S dash cluster installed, the owner seemed to have no idea about this.
The RPM gauge seems to be horribly off and I’m not so sure about the speedometer yet but I suspect it is also off.

Basically I’m wondering, if this cai was installed poorly, what should I look for. And other than that, what are other potential causes for this combination of codes?

Also since the GT-S dash was installed, is there anyway to tell by physically looking at the ecu if it’s for a 1zz or 2? Because I think there may be a possibility that it’s a 2zz ecu as well (or is that even possible)

P.S. it’s a 1zz-fe with a 5 speed manual trans if I didn’t make that clear.

Thanks,

Also it has the cruise control lever on the column but it doesn’t work at all nor do I see a cruise control light (lit or unlit) on the dash. This is why I’m curious about the ECU.

P0100 is Mass Airflow Sensor malfunction. It may cause other codes.

Swap in a known -good MAS. Most Toyotas and Lexuses use the same MAS made by Denso. If that fixes the codes then the MAS is defective,

You can clean the MAS' sensor element with non-residual contact cleaner spray. Sometimes MAS looks good and tested good but still defective. You may need to buy a new one.

Also what is this plug and where is it supposed to go. I’m guessing something airbox related?

Another thing, I was unable to find a door pun & bushing kit anywhere online. Does anyone know if corolla/matrix pins are the same?

Your intake has been modified, not stock.

I dont see the airbox and the MAS on the air intake.

Yes like I said, the only mod I am aware of is the cold air intake.
